Quality assurance program for O’Hare and midway airport

DETAILED NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT & SERVICES PROVIDED:

Design Consulting Engineers (DCE) has been providing engineering service to O’Hare and Midway International Airport since starting at O’Hare International Terminal 5 in 1990 and Midway Air traffic control Tower in 1992. For more than 30 years, DCE has been provided numerous environmental, geotechnical and construction inspection services for more than 30 project in O’Hare and Midway Airport.

OMAP-JV of 5 Minority Company achieved the City of Chicago Department of Aviation Quality Assurance and Material Testing Program QMAT contract and DCE is JV partner of this Project. QMAT is a 5 year with additional 3 years extension project will provide QMAT services for the O’Hare 21st Program Projects. O’Hare 21 is a Chicago Vision for a modern Airport that will be an efficient and accessible International gateway to the World and to Chicago. O’Hare will be transformed from curb to gate and meet the needs of the traveling public through the 21st century and beyond. O’Hare 21st project include O’Hare Global Terminal and 2 satellite concourses. 21st project also include Runway and Terminal extension, on Airport new hotels and Airport Transit system extension and modernization.

 

 

 

DCE’s involvement on this project:

  • QAMT program management during construction phase of the projects
  • QA/QC Management for both horizontal and vertical construction part of the projects
  • Special inspection services in field and offsite throughout the World
  • Post tensioning profile check and inspection services
  • Video inspection of foundation bottom and tunnels
  • Surveying and construction layout staking inspection services
  • IT and database management services
  • Inspection and testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, steel, fireproofing and water proofing materials
  • Submitting daily field inspection and laboratory testing reports to client and documentation of report in client database.
